Jay Z Speaks about the Kanye West/Taylor Swift Thing

Posted by tiara on Friday Jan 15, 2010 Under Beyoncé Knowles, Jay-Z

Took him long enough…

“I just think the timing of what he did was wrong and that, of course, overshadowed everything. He believed that Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’was a better video. I believed that. I think a lot of people believed that. You can’t give someone Video of the Year if they don’t win Best Female Video. I thought Best Female Video was something you won on the way to Video of the Year.”

Alicia Keys on Beyonce Duet

“Are you gonna get your wish to see the video for “Put it in a Love Song” with Beyoncé, I have to say it’s looking really likely, ‘cause we have to do that,’” Keys revealed. “And we’ve already talked about where we want it to be. We’ve been toying with some ill locations. She’s an incredible lady and I absolutely consider her a friend. And we are going to totally, entirely blow your whole head backwards when we do that video.”
I’m pretty sure the stans are drooling over this collab and itching for a video.

Keri Hilson gives Beyonce Stans the Finger

Posted by eddie on Tuesday Jan 5, 2010 Under Beyoncé Knowles

This photo was actually taken New Years Weekend of Keri Hilson partying it up in New York. Allegedly things got heated between her and a couple of Beyonce Stans. They apparently haven’t forgot the”Turnin me on” Remix where she supposedly dissed Beyonce.

The songwriter is is pictured above responding to some Beyonce Stans who were talking ish. Keri had tweeted, “BEYONCE STANS GOING CRAZY.” But later deleted it. Shortly after she posted:

“Twas real, Miami! But I can’t b held accountable 4 anything u found out about me on NYE while intoxicated. Footage, pics, tweets. #PeachOUT”

Yesterday she updated her twitter saying:

“Twam, had a BLAST in MIA w/ friends/fam/fans! NOT 1oz of negativity @ ANY pt! Let’s keep it positive in 2010! I get it poppin #thatisall”

Lol…Keri ain’t taken that ish from nobody. I’m pretty sure Keri be on the blogs poppin off about Beyonce. I mean only people in the blog world use the word “Stan”.

Beyonce discusses launch of ‘Heat’ her new perfume

Posted by tiara on Saturday Dec 19, 2009 Under Beyoncé Knowles

heat-205x300

Beyoncé Knowles is aiming to light a much-needed fire under the beleaguered fragrance business this February with her first scent, Beyoncé Heat. Industry sources estimate it could do $100 million at retail globally in its first year on counter. At least half of that figure is expected to come from U.S. sales.

And the entertainer — who is up for 10 Grammys on Jan. 31 — is more than up for the challenge. She can’t wait to get her scent into the hands of her fans.

“I’m so happy with it,” she said during an exclusive interview with WWD. “I’ve been working on it for a while now. I was on tour for a year, and I have meet-and-greets with fans. I’ve never in my life gotten so many compliments. Coty has their own testing, but that was my testing! The fans loved it. They were like, ‘I love that, I’m getting that, why isn’t it out right now? I need it!” said Knowles with a laugh.

Her fans’ passion helped spark the development process. “What inspires me [both in music and product creation] is love, passion — something that makes me want to be better, to do more,” she said. “Knowing that I have people who look to me — because thank God I’ve had so many great opportunities — I don’t take it for granted. Young girls can see me, and think, ‘Wow. Maybe if I work hard and I’m focused, I can do the same thing.’ And they absolutely can. It’s not just about me being a singer. It’s about knowing that I have people who look at my life, and to know I can inspire them inspires me.”

For the fragrance’s name, Knowles drew from her past tours. “A lot of my performances have had fire involved, so we thought ‘Heat.’ Also, red is one of my favorite colors, as is gold,” she noted; both colors frame the bottle. “So then we thought of making the bottle look like it’s on fire. I love antique bottles — my mother had a collection of them when I was growing up. I wanted something with an antique yet modern feeling. Even with my wardrobe, I always try to find things that have a little bit of something vintage, yet still timeless and classic. The bottle, I felt, was a great mixture of the two.”

The juice, which Knowles concocted with Givaudan’s Claude Dir and Olivier Gillotin, has top notes of red vanilla orchid, magnolia, neroli and blush peach; a heart of honeysuckle nectar, almond macaroon and crème de musk, and a drydown of giant sequoia milkwood, tonka bean and amber.

“This was my first time starting from scratch, although I’ve worked with a few other fragrance projects,” said Knowles, who has also been the face of Tommy Hilfiger’s True Star and Giorgio Armani’s Diamonds. “Everything, from the bottle design to the name and the ideas for the commercials — that’s me. When I commit to something, I do it 100 percent, and I’ve never had [creative control over a fragrance] until this project. I learned a lot of great things from the past — but I always asked myself, ‘If I could have my own scent, what would it be?’ I wasn’t worried about deadlines. It could have taken me three, four, however many years — this was my first fragrance, and I wanted to make sure that it was something I would love forever.”

And there will definitely be more fragrances, said Stephen Mormoris, senior vice president, global marketing, at Coty Beauty, a division of Coty Inc., which holds Knowles’ scent license.

“We will explore all of the different sides of Beyoncé with future fragrances, but Beyoncé Heat is meant to be the enduring classic,” said Mormoris. “We think this scent will re-energize the celebrity category.” Mormoris declined to discuss how large a house of Beyoncé fragrances could be, although industry sources estimated a Knowles-branded fragrance collection could represent a $300 million market opportunity within a few years.

The Beyoncé Heat lineup includes eaux de parfum in three sizes — 1 oz. for $39; 1.7 oz. for $49, and 3.4 oz. for $59 — as well as a 6.8-oz. Gold Sparkling Body Lotion for $24.

Kevin Barnes writing a song for Beyonce

Posted by tiara on Monday Dec 14, 2009 Under Beyoncé Knowles

Kevin+Barnes

You may all remember a couple of weeks ago when Beyonce implied that she was open to working with idie artist such as Of Montreal. Well, Kevin Barnes has his hopes up that she is true to her words(which most of the time are filled with lies). He recently said on the cancer I call twitter that he is writing a song for Beyonce called, “He’s my party drug” which would sound a lot like “The times meet for Tet” which I’ve never heard and have no attentions of hearing.

He really believes Beyonce is willing to work with him. What an incredible dumb ass. I hope he knows if she does accept the song he will get absolutely no credit for writing it.

Diva Beyonce rents An extra Hotel Room for her luggage

Beyonce performed a show in Liverpool this week. While in the city, she rented the $4,000-a-night Charles Forte Presidential Suite at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester. However, when she couldn’t find enough space in the suite for her twelve bags, she had her manager book an extra $300-a-night room for her luggage.

A hotel worker said: “She had seven suitcases, three hand-luggage bags and two boxes, all for her concert. In the cases there were, apparently, 14 dresses, lots of shoes, make-up and 25 wigs.”

It took four bellhops to carry the luggage up to Beyonce’s room.

Beyonce’s sexy attire is getting her in trouble overseas.

The singer, who is known to put on impressive highbrow performances dressed in very little during her concerts and award shows, is being referred to as a worshiper of Satan by Christian and Muslim fundamentalists in Egypt.

According to Afrik.com, Beyonce is scheduled to perform in North Africa at the Red Sea Resort on Friday and fundamentalists have been up in arms about her impending performance. They feel that her scantily clad outfits would not benefit the on looking audience; instead, it will divert people’s attentions away from the business of politics.

Throwing out names such as sinner and being possessed by Satan, Beyonce’s presence in Egypt is being labeled as a way for the country’s government to make their citizens indulge in “sin” to help cover up the crimes they are committing against their people.

The R&B diva’s stage performances make the eyes tweak. Her provocative dance moves and half-naked outfits could easily stir up reaction from ardent religious and modest people, observers have said. Beyonce who once claimed she is religious and goes to church was quickly slammed by an online Christian group, Jesus-is-saviour.com, “Beyonce is NO Christian. She is satanic, serving the Devil,” it stated.

Poverty is still endemic in Egypt and the ticket fee that has climbed up to US$400 is unreasonable high. Conservative Christians and Muslims in the land of the Pharaoh have questioned what benefit the show brings to the country apart from “immorality”.

This is not the first time a Pop/R&B singer has been referred to as a sinner or devil worshiper. Singer Rihanna has been at the forefront of controversy following the release of her song “Russian Roulette” – a song that people are referring to as satanic and the promotion of suicide.

It’s not too hard to understand why a country would be up in arms over a performance from Beyonce. Many country’s have customs that forbid certain attires of women, most of which include the showing of too much skin.

Beyonce ran into a similar issue when it came to performing in Malaysia earlier this year. The country demanded that the singer performed covered up instead of in her usual revealing outfits. In the end, Beyonce opted to cancel her Malaysian performance.

Beyonce Back to Wearing Fur

Posted by tiara on Monday Nov 2, 2009 Under Beyoncé Knowles

006

Beyonce was spotted in moscow wearing FUR yesterday.

So Beyonce went a whole 2 years without wearing fur and Peta even took her off of their hit-list. But I guess she just couldn’t resist it any longer.

Beyonce do you really want PETA on your ass again? I thought you learned better. Guess not.

Thoughts?
