Connecting With Beyonce…“I think this was a very important role for her, because it was the first time she wasn’t playing a singer. But when we first started taping, it was difficult for us to really connect as artists because she has such a huge machine behind her. So in the early going it felt divided … almost like it was her and her team on one side, and everyone else on the other. But once the cameras started rolling, she really opened up and those walls began to fall. As a result, I really saw her grow as an artist, and I think you’ll be able to see it as well when you watch the film.”
Elba’s take on the film receiving a PG-13 rating …“The process of making a movie with Beyoncé was unique, just because she’s such a huge superstar. So when I first looked at the script, I thought the film could have and probably should have received an “R” rating on subject matter alone. But Beyoncé has such a responsibility to her younger fans that I believe it was necessary for them not to try certain things because of that responsibility.”
Oh my…so basically Beyonce and her team controlled the whole movie…WTF is up with that?

E-Mail this to everyone you know and no one will have to go see the movie….I bringing some stuff from WAHOB over here so enjoy fellow fans stans exfanse etertasinment buffs and truth seekers…….
This is an annonymous post from the 16th:
Obsession is rated PG 13.
A movie with that story line is PG 13???
Now before some fool comes in here talking about the actors don’t choose the ratings,
Matty and Beyonce are executive producers of Obsession.
They manipulated the movie so that it would fit in the PG 13 rating.
WHY WOULD THEY DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT???
Because Matty knows that the majority of Beyonce’s fan base are kids, preteens, teens.
In his deluted mind, he probably convinced hiself that caddi records did poorly do to it R rating (instead of coming to terms with the fact that his daughter is not an actress even though her biggest stans admit to it).
So what does he do????
Ding Ding Ding, “Let’s make this movie accessible to her target audience.”

I gues this is crazy dangerous love being promoted……..
I have noticed it with all the heavey publicity, I might check the teen channels and shee if they are being asked to support and take in the demon “OBSESSED” that is being introduced into our culture and society and children and subconcious by the fallen angel sasha fierce.

*edit*
Considering the fact that Beyodel and Pimp Daddy Knowles are executive producers on the movie, I can totally see what he means. HOWEVER, I’m not gonna waste time addressing his pov regarding the rating the movie got because he apparently was talkin’ out the side of his neck just because. I’m curious, though, as to where all this concern for her [younger] fans has been over the past few years that she’s been exposing her cooch and puzzy poppin’/rollin’ around on stage like a fuggin’ dog in heat. smh

I must say Jigga is an angel, compared to her.
Idris Elba interview excerpt:
How was it to work with Beyonce?
There is no word to describe how great Beyonce was. I felt like a third member of their family. I met Beyonce like 10 minutes prior to our photo shoot for the film. I mean, in walks this icon, and I just look at her. The producer says, ‘Idris, Beyonce. Beyonce, Idris.’ The only thing I can manage to say is, ‘Hi, I’m a huge fan…’ Then, the producer says, ‘OK, I need you two to step over here and start kissing’. This is 10 minutes after meeting her! It was a tough job, but somehow I managed to do it (laughs). I was thinking, ‘wow’.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
ha ha ha someone got paid a shit load of money to say these fake words
April 21st, 2009 at 1:49 pm
Idris indicated that Beyonce has a responsibility to her younger fans, obviously he hasn’t seen any of her videos or stage performances. Because if he did, he would not have made that statement.
April 21st, 2009 at 1:57 pm
^^^ I agree and y’all know this shit is all about her
April 21st, 2009 at 2:44 pm
Exactly. Ole girl ain’t thinking bout her “fans”. She just did it to get to their parents wallets!
April 21st, 2009 at 4:01 pm
It doesn’t matter.
She couldn’t even hold down Cadiflop records, and judging from the previews she does a flucking lousy job in this film too.
First of all, BeYawnSay is 34 years old and looks too damn old to be catering to teeny boppers because if you look at her cd sales, her teeny bopper stans/fans have obviously outgrown her because her cd sales are low, 2 million copies is NOTHING for someone who is hyped out of this universe. She should be selling at least 10 million domestically and half that internationally. But the truth is, BeYawnSay has lost lots of fans, she is seriously fading, she never had a grip on the market base anyway, just look at her low sales,
her marketing machine is bigger than her image. They managed to prostitute her here, there and everywhere. She is being pimped out to endorse any and every brand that comes barking at her door.
I mean the chick wears lacefronts, so how is it possible that she can ethically endorse Loreal products?
So not only is this movie rating proof it’s all about BeYawnSay so are her random endorsements. Now she’s endorsing Nintendo!!!!
Didn’t the bish beg, borrow and steal to sing for Obama and turn around and promote the very things he’s against. VIDEO GAMES!!!!!
This bish has no scruples, they don’t think, they just sign on the dotted line so her stans can brag about her accolades.
BeYawnSay doesn’t have a happy bone in her body.
Let’s see how many people turn out for this premiere compared to Cadflop Records, because hardly anybody was there. LMFAOOOO
She doesn’t have friends, and if it weren’t for Gabby’s friends, Cadiflop Records red carpet premiere would have been a super flop!!!!
At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter the rating because she is still a lousy actress and her chances of winning an Oscar are not even worthy of discussing because Hollywood has already bitch-slapped her during the Dreamgirls era. If her machine didn’t get the message then, they won’t ever get it.
Ildris should have conferred with Brad Pitt who declined to work with her in the Curious Case of Benjamin Button had she gotten the part. LMFAOOOOO Brad Pitt has class and takes his craft seriously, he was not about to lower his standards and share the screen with a sub par wanna-bey actress. That would have been a blemish on his acting career.
Go see The Soloist with Jamie Foxx, a real credible actor and a story with a plot and theme!
April 21st, 2009 at 4:51 pm
B.S with the rating thing.
NOW she wants to be mindful of her “younger fans.”
OKAY. (we won’t discuss the coochie popping)
BUT…..
Wasn’t she just in Cadiflop Records, RATED R????
Was she being mindful of her “young fans” then?
OF COURSE NOT
Daddy Matty realized that BEY fans are the teens, preteens. Basically kids.
SO…he thinks that by getting a lower rating, the teeny boppers will come in droves and make Obsession a hit and profitable
WE KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING DADDY MATTY.
Leave the pimping to your own children.
Keep ours out of it!!!!!

Mr. Idris’s career is just begining and therefore i don’t think it would have been in his best interest to turn the part down. Also, black actors and actresses have a hard time trying to find roles as is so, and if he didn’t take the role who knows what beyonce and her father would have done to try and sabatage his career? but agree with everything you’ve said; every last word.
April 21st, 2009 at 7:38 pm
sincerely fuck the knowles….you kept it sincerely and severely real!
April 21st, 2009 at 8:40 pm
Poor Idris! to listen to her bad acting…through that whole movie!
April 22nd, 2009 at 2:46 am
@ Sinerely fuck te knowles
you are right. i ompletley forgot about brad saying no to workiing with beyonce on the curious case of benjamin button. And thank the lord he did. B/c she would have shot that o to hell.
April 22nd, 2009 at 5:51 am
^^No shit and clearly the better woman got the role. When I read an interview Taraji did where she stated that she didn’t think she was going to have a chance at it because Beyodel wanted it, I was like, Girl…STOP IT!! lol I think she was tryna be funny because Taraji knows she’s a helluva actress and considering the type of movie/role it was, wasn’t no way in hell they were going to take a chance on non-acting Beyodel.
April 22nd, 2009 at 7:33 am
I didn’t know this self centered woman was out for the role. Dang why is this woman constantly trying to Deebo movie roles…. She can not act and that’s just plain and simple. She can pour out all of the money in the world and it still won’t give her the ounce of acting talent that Angela Bassett, Taraji, and other black actresses have.
April 22nd, 2009 at 11:15 pm
How would someone of the age group that the rating was lowered for and her tween preteen and teen and dare say young adult fans have any idea how to relate to the content of this film anyhow? It deals with ADULT CONTENT. Things someone who could well be 34 years of age would probably have already experienced. Its like showing a group of 13 year olds Waiting to Exhale. Most of the subject the film deals with would hold NO interest to anyone that age….and don’t get me started on how much it probably took dad to tip off MPAA just to get that PG*13 rating..
April 23rd, 2009 at 2:59 pm
bwahahaha
I just read on another blog that Idris is pullin' the 'sick' card and has cancelled ALL promotional appearances for 'Obsessed'. From a random post on SR:
Clay Cane is reporting that Idris has been canceling press junkets. Here's what he said:
" 'Obsessed' is in theaters tomorrow and rumor has it Idris Elba has bailed out of all press due to early buzz that the film might be career suicide. This week, Elba did not attend the New York City press junket, cancelled on BET’s 106 & Park and supposedly he will not be at the red carpet premiere tonight in New York City. Elba’s reps say the actor has been sick all this week."
Poor Idris. I know it's tough in terms of getting roles & making that paper but damn @ him doing this movie being considered career suicide for him. I wonder if he knew who they had in mind for the role of his wife before he accepted and if he did, he must have REALLY needed the $$$ if he was willing to do it anyway. And from what else I've read, he and Ali Larter pretty much carried the whole fuggin' movie. Lawd…I cannot wait to see this shit for myself because for all intents and purposes, it appears it's going to be worse than any of us thought it was going to be!! smh & ctfu

“Oh my…so basically Beyonce and her team controlled the whole movie…WTF is up with that? “
It takes a special kind of fool to read that interview and come to a conclusion as stupid as the one soulgirl did.
